Thomas William Farmer, Jr. 10/14/1951-2/24/21
Tom, from St. Paul, MN, passed away on Feb. 24, after success-fully holding pancreatic cancer at bay for two years. Preceded in death by his parents, Thomas Sr. and Mary Helen (Tierney), and son Quinn Thomas. Survived by daughter Juliet, brother John (Kimberly), nieces Maria Holm and Kathryn, nephew John, and many great-nephews. Tom grew up in Bloomington, MN, spending summers in Cross Lake, attending St. Thomas Academy, and the University of Minnesota for his college years. Tom loved to travel; Inverness, Cape Cod and California sat at the top of his list. He had a dry and unforgettable wit that resulted in many people calling him the funniest person they knew. Tom enjoyed a fruitful career in TV, video and media production and was a true film connoisseur. The only art of equal importance to him was music. A natural storyteller with an incredible ear for music, Tom wrote songs on both guitar and keys - often recording late into the night, when inspiration struck - and the excitement of songwriting remained fully alive in him until his final days. His greatest loves in his life, however, were his kids, Juliet and Quinn. Anyone who knew Tom, knew about his kids. In his wake he left endless memories, music, and love. A small gathering of family and friends will be held this summer.
