Journal entry by Terrie Ensley —
Dear ones.
Thank you for following Tom’s journey to heaven over the last few weeks on this site. Thank you also for letting me know the Caring Bridge posts were helpful and comforting to so many of you. And thank you especially to Tom and Kathy, and their family for trusting me to be sensitive as I journaled about their lives during this difficult time. I love and value them.
The last text I sent to Tom was back in July. I wrote, “It would be ok with me if the Lord decided to heal you today. I love you.” He answered. “It would be ok with me too.” The healing took a different form from what I had In mind that day, but healing has occurred and I rejoice in Tom’s victory over death.
So, now all that remains are blessed memories — how sweet they are — and the love that doesn’t die with the person. Love is active and living. I loved Tom but Iove him too, with a love that is current and relevant and will always be a part of my heart. As you look into your own hearts, I believe you too will find that your love for Tom and others that have gone before you to live with Jesus, is also a living, present part of you. That is comforting to me and I hope it is to you too.
So. friends. Caring Bridge has served a good purpose and it’s time to turn our focus to the present. Please continue to keep my sister Kathy and family in prayer as they learn to live life without Tom and look forward to seeing him in heaven…soon and very soon.
Love, Terrie
