Journal entry by Tom DeGroff —
My last surgery on March 12 went well, although took the longest to bounce back from. Everything is now patched up and healing. I have a small nub of the thumb left with some feeling thanks to the graft and nerves from my pointer finger. When I touch the top of the nub, I actually feel it in my finger yet. It's weird, but they say my brain will learn where the feeling is coming from. It's a blessing to have any feeling at all on the nub.
My Doctor was great and did an awesome job piecing it back into something useful. Lots of answered prayers.
I am now back to work full time and in therapy twice a week to regain movement in my wrist and fingers. It's very encouraging to see the progress made over the past week in movement.
Thank you to everyone for the prayers and encouragement over the past couple months! God bless.
