Journal entry by Angela Carney

Our family received some really good news today on Tom's biopsy!  There is no rejection happening, and although there is perhaps some sign of the IgA Nephropathy in the transplanted kidney, it is nothing to be concerned about at this point because his urine protein is normal. They believe his numbers have declined due to dehydration linked to the anti-rejection medications, and would like him to get some fiber in his diet and continue to drinks lots of water! They'll continue to monitor his labs on a weekly basis for the next 3 months, adjusting medications as they see necessary. This was the outcome we were praying for!

Amidst all of the excitement, I needed some attention and came down with shingles! Tis the season, so why not shingle bells?!?! My primary doctor wasn't available but the doctor I was able to see asked if I had any stress going on in my life! 🤣🤦‍♀️😒 No amount of immune boosting supplements can keep away the shingles, but not to worry, I'll be good as new in no time!

Thank you all for your continued friendship, prayers, care and concern! We can definitely feel the love and wish you all a Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!
