Quick (who am I kidding) update on dad as it has been way too long! Dad had scan results today and with great news we share dad is still cancer free! It has been 3 years 10 months and 11 days since dad was diagnosed with 4th stage lung cancer and brain cancer. Some days you forget, other days it is still right in your face, and then you have the great day like today of reminding you dad did it! To go back to that day and to say dad would still be here today was not even an option to consider or answer if someone asked. Dad’s strength to live and be here for not just himself but also for his family was strength enough to continue to beat the odds. We are also so blessed for dad’s doctor he is a true miracle in itself! 

Mom and dad took on a backyard project this past summer pulling old sod, bringing in black dirt, putting new sod down, jack hammering cement and hauling it away. Jared brought in his expertise to help with this all and level and pour the new concrete patio and sidewalks today with help from his fellow friends/coworkers or whatever you call these wonderful people. Impressed is understatement of what they accomplished this summer I am exhausted just thinking about it. Mom and dad love sitting outside enjoying the weather and letting the puppies play and now they have their patio.

They both also enjoyed some great road trips, keeping up with all the grandkids, and the sadness of there beloved dog Tell passing, only to realize they are not a 1 dog family and we all were blessed to welcome crazy Will to the family even if we all still call him Tell and I mean all of us! 

Dad you are a miracle again just like you were in 1999. Keep up the fight and keep kicking some cancer ass!
