I’d like to post a last journal entry to say THANK YOU to each and everyone who has followed and been with us either physically or in mind and spirit over the last 3 months. It was exactly 3 months ago today that Tom was given the dreaded CA diagnosis. It went so very quick, but we had precious moments, and so so many people touched our hearts and lives during this time.
From the notes posted on this site, to the cards sent, and the food and the visits, the outpouring of love has been just incredible. And the funeral was simply amazing. Over 200 people joined the Stone family to celebrate Tom’s life and came from as far away as Texas, Alaska, Canada, North Carolina and Oregon to share the day. A huge thank you to Aaron Schauer for the beautiful song he wrote for Tommy and sang at the funeral as well as Carie and Mark for the perfect songs they sang, especially Hey Jude at the end! And our Pastors personalized the scripture and sermon down to the demonstration of Tom’s hugs! Gunner was by my side throughout the visitation and the funeral and had perfect behavior. And I heard there were so many Stoney Acres Retriever dogs in cars in the parking lot they could have had their own “parking lot party”!!
My heart is empty without my soulmate but I know I’m surrounded by the love of my family and all of my church family, my lake family, and my dog families.
