Journal

Monday Eve. Jan. 3rd,  We hope that everyone had a Merry Christmas and Happy New Year.  Toddy was in today for his regularly scheduled three month CT Scan of his lungs.  We are happy to report that Toddy's lungs remain cancer free!  Today we were able to see a side by side comparison of his lungs from his last CT Scan 3 months ago to today's scan.  It was great to see that although there was still some residual left over from his Covid episode, it was not very visible.  All the same residual spots had shrunk more than half the size of three months ago.  Incredible how long that it takes a body to clear itself from that virus once it is in your lungs.
From here Toddy will be re-scanned in another three months until next fall when he will move to a 6 month rotation.  The CT scans will continue for 10 years at the 6 month interval.  The two Oncologists we met with today stressed how fortunate Toddy was to be diagnosed early.  We are so very fortunate.  Toddy is on his way to a full head of hair and is back up to 186 lbs from the 141 he was down to on his journey.  He is still doing physical therapy and has just begun doing his therapy in the pool. He is excited about the progress of his therapy and is planning on returning to the baseball field next spring for the Loretto Larks.
Toddy is enrolled at the University of Wisconsin Eau Claire and will leave for school on Jan. 28th to begin that journey again, the spring semester.  It will be good for him to get back to school and be with the friends that he made over a year ago.
We are so lucky to have had so many, far and near, praying for our son this past year and continuing the prayers.  We are so lucky to have had such strong community support where we are living here in Rockford and the surrounding communities.  We are certain that because of your support our journey was made that much easier!
With that, we would like to sign off by saying, "Thanks", it has been an overwhelming year for this family and for the many that know us.  And we are certain that "Thanks" isn't enough, but we mean it to the Nth Degree!  Thanks for your kindness, thoughtfulness, and generosity in looking out for our son Toddy.   You have helped him get through this thing called Cancer!  Tom & LaRae
