Todd’s Story

Site created on July 30, 2023

On July 25, Todd experienced a stroke at his home in Belize. Todd and his wife Shirley have served in Belize for the past nine years with Kidz Konnect 4 Jesus. After receiving great medical care, Todd is stable but is experiencing weakness on his left side. Thank you for joining the family in prayer during this time.

Newest Update

Journal entry by Shirley Stone

Our day to day is becoming increasingly predictable, up at 7am,  Todd is more independent in his morning routine shaving, teeth, etc. Breakfast at 7:30, read, pray, therapy at 8:30am...10am exhaustion, rest, lunch, 1:30pm therapy on arm/ hand or pool therapy on Tuesday and Thursday, 3pm exhaustion- rest, dinner, TV,  bed. Throw in a couple of showers, trips to the store, ballgames for one or another of Jenny's girls and the week is full.
Todd is becoming more confident with his balance and transfers require little to no assistance.
When we get comfortable these amazing therapists challenge Todd, and me, to new things. Today, he WALKED into church at West Bradenton, where they have loved us for these weeks. No doubt God has us where we need to be, He's provided a home, super skilled therapists who love Jesus, and healing beyond anything we could ask or imagine.
We are grateful to those who continue to go to Belize. Please pray for seeds sown this week through teams. Pray for the gospel to advance and ministry that continues at Bloom. Kidz Konnect 4 Jesus team and our church family at Light of the Valley are continuing to shine Jesus' light and love in those places we were serving just a few weeks ago, God is not surprised by any of this.
We are not making plans more than a few weeks at a time. We miss our kids and can't wait to spend time with them. We miss Belize and can't wait to get back...16 stairs is the goal!  Pray for our wisdom and discernment. We continue to pray for God's blessing on those who are loving us well. Thank you for the prayers, cards, calls, messages... we are so grateful! All our love!
