Newest Update

Journal entry by Kari Fjeldberg

I am reminded myself today is Thankful Thursday.  It's been way to long for me updating you on here. Much has happened everyday it seems with what we refer as little potholes in the road to recovery. Non the less it is extremely stressful, frustrating and exhausting not just physically but emotionally. We had hoped Todd to be released and back home recovering last weekend at the latest and that unfortunately didn't happen.  We were told that we were to be here until after Thanksgiving.  With the Benefit being held for us this Sunday at the Vinyard Church Todd did receive special permission to attend it.

The Kidney is doing Wonderfully,  the issues stem from an infection and fluids building up in pockets and some internal bleeding. The internal bleeding was determined to be coming from the removal of both of his large kidneys. His Hemoglobin is now more stable at 8.8.

The infection he has is called Enterococcus Faecalias and Colgulase. The  oral 2 antibiotics didn't kill the infection so he had to have a surgical Catheter placed to receive antibiotic Infusions everyday.  There is absolutely no day off.

He currently has 2 drains coming out each side of his stomach to drain excess fluid that build up. He has been receiving unexpected appointments with dr.s about his daily lab reports on these and then off to a cat scan. Today there was an emergency call to him for a cat scan and currently waiting on the results.  We have been predicting another surgery and drain. We will see. Todd's  spirits have been quite good most of the time however I see him really struggling emotionally this last 10 days. Today is especially difficult.

If you are able to attend the Benefit at the Vinyard Church from 5-8 on Sunday 20th to visit with Todd it would certainly boost his spirits.

God Bless you all, thank you for your continued prayers!
