Newest Update

Journal entry by Natalie Oteri

We've had a busy few days since the last update on Tuesday the 30th.  Tuesday was a big day with getting surgery scheduled, but Wednesday was spent on the phone getting pre-op appointments lined up ASAP so we could have the completed.  So, at the end of Wednesday his appointment with our primary Dr. and the Cardiologist were scheduled.  Thursday I returned to work for the day.  Tino had his pre-op appointment with Dr. Junk in town here on Thursday afternoon....passed with flying colors 😀.  He did get his pain medication changed as he didn't want to stay on the oxy any longer.....unfortunately, the new med doesn't quite kick the pain as well, so he's a little more sore.  Friday AM, Tino attended the re-grand opening of the Walmart in town after a beautiful remodel.  He needed to be there to celebrate with all the associates, and this was the first time he's seen many of them since his diagnosis.  It wasn't a long ordeal, but I will say it definately tired him out, we got home, he layed down until it was time to leave for his Cardiologist appointment in Sioux Falls...last of the pre-op appointments.  This one also went well, so we are cleared for surgery.  Tino and I met my mom and Gabby at the Hudson exit..Tino got into car with mom, Gabby jumped in with me and we quickly drove to Vermillion to watch Elise's Nurse Pinning Ceremony at 6pm.  So proud of her, Tino was able to watch from home b/c it was live streamed...so even though he wasn't there, he still got to watch 😍 I hope I remembered everything, these last 4 days have been super busy and crazy...We all appreciate the thoughts, prayers, hugs, texts and encouragement....it's really sometimes the thing that gets us through to the next day.
