Journal entry by Matt Lindberg

Well I can't believe its been a whole year.  Yesterday marked the 1 year anniversary of when I finished chemo!  I have been meeting with both my surgeon and oncologist every 3-4 months.  I met with my oncologist on Monday this week and everything looked great (exam and bloodwork). I still have plenty of off days, but am feeling closer to what I think my new normal will be every day.  I am slowing starting to work out again which I am so thrilled about even though it is at a VERY SLOW pace, but I do what my body can tolerate.  Next I hope sleep will follow! I still am having lots of issues sleeping which is normal.  Last night, I watched a live event with a UNMC sleep dr who discussed sleep disturbances in breast cancer patients and survivors (over 80% have some type of sleep disturbance).  Lets hope mine will normalize soon!!!

Also, menopause and hot flashes are no joke.  I freeze matt and the kids as my internal temp has risen!  I also sleep with the ceiling fan and a bedside fan on every night!

For those of you not on FB, we celebrated me being done with treatment (when we felt it was safe) with a trip to Maui.  It was fantastic trip with Matt & the girls.  Attached are a couple pics from the trip!

Thanks again for all the prayers, love and support!  I love and appreciate you all helping me through this journey!
