Journal entry by Henry Lanman —
It has been quite a journey. Tina was discharged from Craig Hospital and we drove home on Wednesday August 26th. I spent the last ten days of her stay there being trained on everything required to care for a spinal injury patient at home. I also accompanied Tina during all of her physical therapy and other appointments so I would be familiar with her rehabilitation procedures. She has made progress but still cannot use her left leg and hand very much. We will continue therapy at home until she is able to attend therapy outside the home at a PT facility. She still requires 24 hour supervision so we are looking into obtaining outside domestic and Nursing Assistance help. Let me tell you it is difficult to find in Santa Fe. Tina's mental state is much better but she still has trouble remembering what she did the day before although her memory of past events prior to the injury is very good. So onward we go and hope the future brings her more mobility and some happiness. I can't say enough about Craig Hospital and their staff. They were so professional, competent and empathetic that no one could ask for more. I want to thank everyone for the flowers, cards and good wishes. They really made a difference in keeping Tina's morale up. Thanks again to everyone. Henry
