Tina’s Story

Site created on December 16, 2023

Welcome to our CaringBridge website. Kaitlin and I are using it to keep family and friends updated regarding my bone marrow transplant.  I was diagnosed with Primary Myelofibrosis in June, 2023.  A bone marrow transplant is scheduled for February 8, 2024 and  will help heal my bone marrow, and help it to start making normal cells again.  I will be required to live in Nashville with a caregiver starting on January 31 until 100 days post transplant. We appreciate your support and words of hope and encouragement. Thank you for visiting.

Day 53
I found out at clinic yesterday I am at a heightened risk for skin cancer for the next two years.  That means no lake visits for two summers.  I have to be extra careful when I am in the sun.  Big bummer!  On a positive, I have moved from wearing the boot to wearing an ankle brace.  Wes is here with me all week, and my friend Stacey will be here this weekend.  I am grateful to have so many good friends and family who want to come and stay with me!  April is covered, we don’t have anyone signed up for the first two weeks in May.  Then I will get to go home!  Can’t wait!  Thanks for checking in!
