Tim’s Story

Site created on February 1, 2023

Welcome to Tim's CaringBridge website to keep  family and friends updated on his progress.  In January 2023, we discovered that Tim's colon cancer (from 5 years ago) had metastasized into his right lung.  He will require a lower and possibly middle right lobectomy to remove the tumor.  The surgery will be a bit more extensive than originally thought.  But Tim is ready and the surgery has been scheduled for Wednesday, February 8th.  After his surgery, he will require about 1-2 months of recovery, and then he will begin a 6 month regimen of chemo.  Then in about 1 year, he will have heart surgery to repair an ascending aortic aneurysm.  His aneurysm is currently 5.2 cm.  When it grows to 6 cm,  he will need the surgery.  The surgery is a big one, with about a 2 week hospital stay.  But that is definitely on the back burner for now.  We will post updates as regularly as we can.  We appreciate your support and words of hope and encouragement - and most of all your prayers.  God has been faithful to us throughout this process, and we are committed to glorifying Him through our marriage as we travel this road together.  Love you, Denine & Tim

Journal entry by Denine Simin

Today marks the end of a long summer of chemo treatments - for today Tim has finished his last and final treatment. Thank you Jesus for getting us here. It has not been easy nor without tears, but You have been faithful! This suffering has brought us closer  to You and for that we are grateful. Thank you friends and family for the meals, kind words, porch talks, love, and most importantly your prayers. They have sustained us.  In Jesus’ name, Amen!
