Tim’s Story

Site created on June 29, 2023

For 46 years he’s been one of the helpers —paramedic, teacher, American Red Cross and Heart Association volunteer, free clinic provider and health policy advocate. Now he’s on the other side of care. Tim has been diagnosed with inoperable colon cancer. Its progress is advanced and he begins his treatment journey this week.  With the many people he’s helped and befriended over the years, we will be using Caring Bridge to keep you updated on his journey.  We appreciate your support.

Journal entry by Beth George

Ok, many have reminded me that I have been remiss on Tim’s scan update.  Well, there was further reduction and calcification on his liver tumors.

He was given three options going forward:  Continue with the chemo treatment as is; continue with chemo minus one of the harshest drugs; or take a break.  With his labs looking good and the positive change in the tumors he decided to keep the course with chemo every other Monday and wear the 5FU home for two days.

His dance card is getting full keeping up his support of area folks needing CPR, first aid, emergency policy, AED and other advice.
