Tim’s Story

Site created on May 7, 2023

Tim Jackson is husband to Cole (47 years), father of three (Tyler, Tamara, and Tracey), “Pop" to four grandchildren, friend, and professional counselor (37 years). Tim is at heart an outdoorsman, who loves to hunt, fish, camp, and do woodworking.

If asked what his deepest desire is, Tim would say, “To be a faithful husband, father, and grandpop.” This passion in Tim’s care for others is displayed through his counseling practice. He is dedicated to help people in their life-challenges to “struggle well” and lean on the Lord rather than “struggle poorly.” As a result, Tim is an upbeat, compassionate, and well-loved man by those who know him well.

Tim’s cancer journey began back in 2021 when he was diagnosed with prostate cancer. After several surgeries and evaluating various treatment options, Tim and Cole prayerfully decided to receive medical treatment through alternative means through the Burzinski Clinic in Houston Texas. The Burzinski clinic specializes in new cancer treatments that utilizes immunotherapy and gene targeting treatment that has shown promising results. After 7 months of treatment and lots of prayer, on December 7, 2023 Tim was officially rid from his prostate cancer and declared cancer free.

On January 8th 2024 Tim suffered a seizure that alerted neuro specialists to find a tumor that was successfully removed through surgery on January 12, 2024. It was then discovered that Tim had a terminal brain cancer called Glioblastoma methylated (GBM). Unlike other brain cancers, GBM is a terminal diagnosis with no known cure in Western medicine through traditional treatment.

After numerous consultations, conversations, and continued prayer, Tim and Cole have decided to seek treatment again through the Burzinski clinic in Houston. This treatment has shown promising results in similar cases with GBM, offering a higher quality of life and increased changes of a longer life.

Newest Update

Journal entry by Tim Jackson

In two days Cole and I are doing our 3rd marathon journey to Houston via Delta Airlines from GR through Atlanta and on to Houston for a 30min infusion. It's and every other week deal. Then it's back on a plane home to GR through Atlanta. Precious friends drop us off and pick us up at GR and Houston, get us to our clinic, and back home safely. The last time after the infusion, my blood pressure spiked and would not come down. I never realize just how much your BP regulates how you feel. It kicked my behind for about 6 days. A real roller coaster ride. Tired, headaches, no energy to do anything.

The comment from our NP in Houston was this: "Tim, the therapy your were on that took care of your prostate cancer was a walk in the park compared to this treatment for a nasty brain cancer." That simple caring statement of fact was both comforting and encouraging. I wasn't imagining thing. This is going to be a tougher battle than before.

So, please pray for:

-Strength to graciously endure treatment even when it involves suffering

-Courage to keep moving forward and taking it one step at a time with gratitiude

-That we are able to keep my BP under control with the new meds so that I can receive the infusion treatment this Wednesday and every other Wednesday after that

-That both Cole and I are able to allow the light of Jesus to shine through us even though this isn't a journey we wanted to be on.

And for all those who have been faithfully upholding us in pray and supporting us financially we say a deeply heartfelt "Thank you!"

Tim
