Journal entry by Beth Knaack —
After a week in the hospital, lots of tests, and meeting with different doctors, Tim is planning to go home tomorrow!
The doctors determined that Tim has a fungal infection in his lungs as well as pneumonia. He will continue with IV antibiotics at home along with all of his other medications. He has been working with physical therapy and continues to get stronger. Speech therapy has been teaching him exercises to help strengthen his throat which is weak along with the rest of his muscles.
Due to the transplant and the medications Tim is taking, he has a very suppressed immune system, which means he is susceptible to all illnesses. With it being cold and flu season, unfortunately, they are unable to accept visitors.
We appreciate all of the prayers and kind words and ask for Tim to be included in your prayers as he continues to fight these illnesses.
