Tim’s Story

Site created on January 21, 2022

We decided to start this page to keep everyone updated on Dad the next few months.  He is doing great and improving every day, so there won't be daily updates.  The long story in the first post will get you caught up from the fall on Christmas Eve up through today, January 21.  Thank you for all the thoughts and prayers - they are so appreciated.  Theresa is doing good and upping her game with her nursing skills (Tim says she still has a long way to go).  Ryan has been able to fly in and out to see Dad and Jake, the kids and I are keeping them entertained and loaded up with DoorDash!

He'll be back on his new pontoon boat and on the golf course in no time!

Love,
Tim, Theresa, Amanda, Jake, Ryan & Katherine

Newest Update

Journal entry by Amanda Owens

Tim's last day at Moody's was the Thursday before Memorial Day.  His goal was to walk out of Moody's and after a really nice send off by the staff and patients, he walked out of the gym!  We headed straight to the lake and after a great Memorial Day weekend - he went home to Odessa!

Although he (we) were ecstatic to get him home, it was bittersweet leaving everyone at Moody's.  He'd been in the trenches with the other patients for months and the staff that took care of him became family.   We can't thank Moody's therapists and staff enough.

He is back at the office and doing outpatient therapy 3 times a week.  He is so glad to be home!

This will be the last Caring Bridge update (cause clearly I'm really on top of it 🥴).  Although moving a little slower than usual, Tim is getting back into the swing of things and continuing to work towards getting rid of the wheelchair and walker for good.

Thank you all so much for your thoughts and prayers over the last 6 months.  They have been felt and greatly appreciated!

Here is the video of him walking out of the Moody gym!  Walking
