Tiffany’s Story

Site created on December 18, 2023

Hello to all our friends & family

Welcome to our CaringBridge website. We are using it to keep family and friends updated in one place. Thank you for visiting.

My cancer story just began in 2023. I wanted to find a place where I can share my updates with all of you.

On November 16 at my 2 week post up follow up, I was diagnosed with endometrial (uterine) cancer stage 1A, high grade /grade 3, clear cell carcinoma. I had a 5cm tumor that invaded my endometrial wall by about 20%. This is a rare subtype of cancer that is very agressive. (See my post with links to the american cancer society website for more info) Luckily it was caught early & didn't spread. It was removed on November 1st with a full hysterectomy laproscopic robotic surgery. I'm home healing nicely from surgery right now (about 6 weeks post op at this point) waiting for my next follow up visit to begin treatments

My oncology team is recommending an aggressive treatment plan with both radiation & chemo that will most likely begin after Christmas. So my journey is only just beginning.

I will post updates & photos here. So please check back often or feel free to reach out to me & Dave directly.

We love you all so much & thank you for your love & support.

Newest Update

Journal entry by Tiffany OConnell

We're so excited to announce that I completed my radiation treatments last week.
I got to ring the bell again. The team at Genesis Care (now Oncology Consultants) were wonderful. Sorry to say that I hope I never need to see them again. Doc says radiation recovery will take about 6 weeks. Daily fatigue being my worst side effect might get worse guring this time (I have about 3-4hrs of energy per day right now). With scheduled followup with both my radiologist & oncologist for next steps over the next month or so. Fingers crossed & looking forward to recovery as well as celebrating 💗
Thank you to my sexy Irish Dave O'Connell for all his care & compassion during my treatments. I couldn't have it without him. And thank you to all our friends & family for prayers love & support as well.
Love Tiff & Dave
