Journal entry by Mary Cannon —
Dad recently met with the oncologist again, and we found that his recent bloodwork showed that all major systems are functioning well. However, side effects from radiation have resulted in dehydration and other related issues.
His oncologist has determined that resuming immunotherapy is not feasible due to Dad's past autoimmune response. While the three rounds of treatment he received may have staged off the cancer for a while, it's not the full course of four treatments. However, they did shrink everything except for the spot on his spine, which was targeted with two weeks of radiation and concluded on April 13th.
Dad's next scan is scheduled for around the second week of May to assess how everything is progressing.
We appreciate all of your continued support and love.
