Teagan John & Lola Lou-Ann’s Story

Site created on October 26, 2022

Welcome to Teagan & Lola's CaringBridge page. We are using this platform to keep family and friends updated in one place. We appreciate your prayers, support, and words of hope and encouragement during this time.

Our babies were born at 33 weeks gestation (7 weeks early). They are both fighters and are the perfect additions to completing our home. 💙💗

They say to prepare for our babies to be in the NICU until their due date, December 10. We know they are well taken care of and that they need this time to grow and develop but this is the hardest thing to go through even though we have experienced it just 15 months ago for the first time 💙💗 In order to come home with us both babies have to achieve or pass a list of milestones and requirements, and it will take some time. With that being said, our new normal will be split between Helen DeVos Children’s Hospital NICU with our babies Teagan and Lola and our Caledonia home with our babies Ezekiel and Octavia.

Thank you to all whom have reached out. We truly appreciate the kind words of encouragement and the prayers. We are unbelievably blessed with great friends and family, and I’m so sorry for my lack of or delayed responses - our plate is quite full.

Welcome to the world Teagan John and Lola Lou-Ann, Mom and Dad love you with everything they have and cannot wait to bring you home one day to complete our family with Ezekiel Richard and Octavia Rose 💙💗

Journal entry by Brina Tiemeyer

Both Lola & Teagan are experiencing many “firsts” being home. They both met their doggy Bear 🐾 They both have learned what a swing is which I can say both of them are BIG fans. They both love to listen to lullabies while asleep and also have enjoyed nonstop kisses and hugs from their older siblings Ezekiel & Octavia.

Both Lola & Teagan remain on intermittent feeding schedules of every 3 hours. Teagan is retaining 3.5 ounces every 3 hours and Lola is retaining 2 to 3 ounces every 3 hours.

Biggest MILESTONE of the month is Lola has been tube free for 1 week. As long as she maintains her daily minimum of 480mL at honey thickness then we can keep the tube pulled 🎉🤩 She is must more comfortable and even smiles these days 💗

Both Lola & Teagan continue to struggle with acid reflux, digestive issues, and prematurity. Lola currently is prescribed 3 medications plus her Gelmix infant formula thickener and Teagan is prescribed 4 medications.

We have had 2 Emergency Room visits this month between the two of them as well as numerous doctor appointments and in-home services. Both of them handle the constant stimulation and transitions with grace - Mama is so proud of them and their resiliency.

Both Teagan & Lola sleep best when being cuddled but they also love their matching bassinets next to Mama & Dad’s bed. Both have begun tracking faces and turning heads to sound. Teagan loves to hold his own head up and explore the world 💙

Both Lola & Teagan have officially graduated to Newborn Size clothing 🥰 all premie clothes have been packed away 🎉

Mama & Dad continue to be amazed by every milestone and love having each and every one of these “firsts” with them 💙💗
