3 years ago I got word that my surgery was not successful and they didn’t get clear margins from my tumor. This was the first time that I felt the real fear of cancer. Fortunately, a second surgery did the trick and I am still cancer free.
The down side is that I did end up with Covid, in spite of being so careful. Mostly upper respiratory issues that developed into a sinus infection and unbearable exhaustion. For a while I had almost daily headaches that were so bad they made me nauseous. After talking to my PCP about my long Covid issues, we agreed to try some PT rather than meds for the headaches. It was the right call and I get them rarely now. The exhaustion is another story. I can sleep 9-11 hours and my body is still dragging. I also get very sore muscles if I sit or lay too long. I can usually walk it off, but not easy to do when one is trying to sleep. I hope these can resolve themselves before school starts and I have to get up at 6 AM.
On the plus side, we moved to a rambler in Woodbury (closer to our River House) in April. It is pretty much our dream home with the main level perfect for the day we can’t do stairs and a walkout basement for when the kids/grands all visit. Feel free to come visit either place! We’d love to see you all!
