Journal
We took Theo into children's hospital last night around midnight due to a fever. Since admission he hasn't been feeling very well and has had a fever off and on. We do know at this point that he has a central line infection, so we are grateful that we discovered the fever when we did and were able to quickly get into the hospital and begin his antibiotics.
Theo will be in the hospital for several days to determine what is causing the infection, in order to determine the best antibiotic to treat it. Beyond the immediate risks associated with a line infection, our biggest concern is an inability to quickly clear the infection. Failure to do so would result in replacing the line, which is a surgery and comes with several other risks - both short and long-term.
We'll be praying for a lot of things over the next few days.
