Journal

For many of you who have been keeping up with The Hale's journey these last several days, you're following a family you don't even know. I'd love to introduce you to them a little bit better tonight, so that you know who you're praying for. <3

Kurt and Karina were the first people we met when we visited Hibernia Baptist Church. They were warm and welcoming and did not let us feel like we were new. They made us feel like we had known them for years. They are some of the most genuine, down to earth people I have ever known. What you see is what you get. What they speak, they believe. They are truly an amazing family.

Kurt owns a landscaping company here in our little town, just South of Jacksonville, Florida. (For those in need, it's Cornerstone Landscape Solutions)

Karina is a stay at home Mom and home schools their four school age children. The only one who isn't quite school age is Nora, a precious little redhead who has recently turned one.

Four years ago, when we were stationed in Hawaii, their second born, Seth, was diagnosed with Leukemia. Four years ago yesterday (July 29), Seth had his bone marrow transplant and has had a great bill of health ever since. You may or may not remember me sharing their story then, talking about how incredible they are and how strong they are in their faith. This faith has come to show again with everything that has now happened.

Kurt and Karina are very involved in their church. As long as I've known them, they've been teaching a young adult Bible Study class.

As Jaden is now on this long journey of recovery, he has already had two very serious surgeries. We've started a Go Fund Me to help ease the financial burden. We are pushing hard to make sure we reach our newly set goal for The Hale's. Imagine if every family in my Facebook feed donated $5. How incredible would that be.

I know even $5 is tough for some, and if you are not in a place to financially donate, will you please share this, so that more people can see their story, their faith, and their strength, and just maybe with your help, we can reach our goal an help them in the time they need us the most!
