Journal entry by Soni Nyquist

Thea had a visit to her cardiologist this past Monday. We received a good report that her repair looks very much the same as it did when she was discharged. As I was reading the report on the health portal yesterday this sentence stuck out to me "9 months post operative". What?! How was it 9 months ago already?? Thea is doing great, she is happy and thriving and meeting her milestones. We feel very blessed! We go back for another cardiologist visit in 6 months, after that if things are still looking great, then we will probably go to yearly appointments.

The rest of our family of seven is doing well too. We had lots of down moments in 2023, including Thea's need for surgery, the loss of Carl's mom, and finding our way after taking a big loss in wages for both Soni and Carl but we are happy and blessed. The kids are enjoying school activities. Isabelle joined band this year and is playing volleyball. Otto, Skye, and Sven all participated in youth wrestling.  Looking forward to spending more time with family this year and enjoying the kids activities and watching the kids learn and grow.
