Thane has been inpatient for almost two months now with many complications after his initial meningitis diagnosis. The doctors say they do not know why he is continuing to have so many issues and cannot give us a diagnosis or prognosis.
His heart is under a lot of stress. There was an attempt to take him off the ventilator, but due to increased work of breathing, he quickly needed to be put back on.
Thane has been having fevers with an unknown source. His labs that show heart and other system functions have continued to fluctuate and decline. The doctors have not been forthright about their future plans for his care. I imagine it’s because health care is a lot less straightforward than we are led to believe. It really is just a lot of guess work and moment by moment interventions.
Fortunately, there are many doctors with varying opinions and experiences, who are weighing in daily with their theories. There are so many minds at work to provide the best care for Thane. Praise God! We are asking for prayer for hope, healing, wisdom and clarity for the doctors to be able to help him.
