Journal entry by Terri Avila —
As I sit here with my normal schedule all messed up having an infusion on a Thursday instead of my normal Monday. God reminds me he has a Reason. I sit in my row at first by myself then all of a sudden the whole room is full of patients. 2 ladies sitting across from me, battling ovarian cancer One much younger on weekly chemo, her body has decided to resist the normal medication, but living her life to the fullest and full of joy. Her and her wife working as a team together no matter what comes there way. Also a fabulous sense of humor. The other one I think is my age ish. Probably younger, it’s always hard to tell these days. Also having multiple rounds oh chemo herself. A joy to be around. This is not a club you want to join but it’s a club that we have been given and we have managed to take life in stride and gather joy and happiness it everything around us. In our little area we are joined today by a 16 yr old that is battling breast cancer. Yes 16. She still has smiles and joy. This cancer is a mess but I can tell you but can’t explain the joy that comes with it too. Coining the phrase from one of my new friends. I am making it to the end! What a great perspective. We are all making it to the end, in the mean time live. Love you more ,thank you more
