Terrie’s Story

Site created on October 22, 2020

I wanted to start this Caringbridge site, to let my family and friends follow my journey.  I appreciate your prayers and concerns, but I’m very upbeat, and prepared for what is placed before me.  I trust in God!!!

A few weeks ago,  a severe pain developed in my left side.  I went to the doctor and was diagnosed with diverticulitis.  I was given a 14 day dosage of antibiotics.  After the 14 days I was still experiencing pain.  I contacted my GI doctor and he ordered a cat scan.  From the cat scan he noticed swollen lymph nodes on the side where the pain was coming from.  He then ordered a biopsy on those lymph nodes.

Monday I received the results.  After meeting with my new oncologist yesterday, he gave me the diagnosis of B Cell Follicular Lymphoma.  He gave me general information but to plan a treatment I need a couple more tests.  I have a Bone Marrow Biopsy scheduled for Tuesday the 27th, and a Pet Scan on Friday the 30th.  With the results of those two tests, I will meet with my oncologist on November 4th, and he will present the plan of treatment.

I have fantastic support!!!  I will update you all as we go.  Thank you all for your thoughts and prayers!!

Everyone has been so kind to pray for me, and I appreciate the prayers so much.  Before I update what’s going on with me, I’m going to ask for prayers for a friend, facing some procedures of her own.  Please pray that all goes well, and she has peace about her treatment, thank you.

My spinal fusion was 6 weeks ago today.  Doing well, fusion is working, still have a way to go till complete fusion.  But the worst is behind me.  I have a great support system, and love my medical team.

Had my appointment with my oncologist last week.  He has scheduled a PetScan for June 11.  I have had some bumps pop up, and he doesn’t expect them to be anything but swollen nodes, but he’s being cautious.  I am happy with my oncology medical team too.  I feel very blessed to have such great medical people taking care of me.

I believe in prayer.  I pray for everyone being touched by health problems, a lot of things we can bounce back from...but we have one body, and that’s much harder to manage.  Seems like so many of my friends are having problems.  Keep the faith friends!! We are all in this together❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
