Journal entry by Teri Hansen

Tomorrow is surgery day. We have to be at the hospital at 9:30am and surgery is scheduled for 11:30am. I forgot to ask how long the surgery is but I am assuming it won’t take too long to cut a pie shaped piece of my lower right lung lobe out. I will be in the hospital for 3-5 days but I really do like hospital food. I am scared but trying really hard not to show it. If I show I am scared, then how will the kids feel. They know that this time, the cancer fight is much harder, but I try to keep a brave face on most of the time. No sense on being negative but occasionally it is hard to stay on the positive train. For those of you asking what you can do…. please check on Jeremy. This is so much for him to deal with and now he has to manage the household all by himself and make sure his wife is ok. I also ask for prayers. Prayers have worked well so far through my journey, but the journey it not over yet. Prayer warriors unite! It is going to be warm tomorrow (35 degrees for those of you outside of Minnesota) and sunny. A great day to fight Cancer!
