Teri’s Story

Site created on September 24, 2021

Welcome to Teri’s CaringBridge website. We are utilizing CaringBridge to share updates as Teri undergoes treatment for her brain tumor.

In March 2021, Teri developed shingles on her face. She underwent testing to ensure that her eyes weren’t impacted, and discovered that her left optic nerve was swollen. When this couldn’t be explained or corrected, Teri had an MRI. The MRI showed a brain tumor, which the doctors believe is a meningioma.

The placement of the tumor makes it impossible to remove entirely, as her optic nerve, facial nerves, and internal carotid artery run through it.

Her current treatment plan involves surgery on September 28th to debulk the tumor and radiation following 3 months or so later.

The hope is that by removing some of the pressure on the optic nerve, Teri’s vision will be preserved, and radiation will stop the tumor from growing.

Your thoughts, love, and prayers are appreciated.
