At 9:40 p.m., 4/1618, the world got darker...
...Surrounded by her family, having been able to say goodbye to so many today, Teresa peacefully and without pain went to sleep and didn't wake.
I'm still, as so many are, trying to let this sink in. I can say the words but it also seems impossible. A world without Teresa's infectious laugh and sharp and quick wit is not one I look forward to...even though talking incessantly was something we shared, words escape me now...
Let it Hurt by Rascal Flatts
So let it hurt, let it bleedLet it take you right down to your kneesLet it burn to the worst degreeMay not be what you want, but it's what you needSometimes the only way around itIs to let love do it's workAnd let it hurtYeah, let it hurt
(https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AIslcAtrWvs)So as we hurt, and try to wrap our heads around her death, we will grieve. We will cry. We will wonder how we will go on. We will get mad. We will ask "Why?" And then, sometimes, we'll laugh. Because Teresa would have us laughing. We will tell stories of her amazing generosity, spirit, strength and love. We will remember; Remember how incredibly blessed we have been to be in the light of Teresa Lane Grapsas - wife, mother, daughter, sister, aunt, neighbor, colleague, Speech./Language Pathologist, teacher, crafter, confidant, friend. Our beloved Teresa. We have been touched and forever changed because of you Teresa. And for that we are better people. And because of that, we will go on, spreading all you have taught us... but tonight....I wanna cry...
