Journal

This is it. This is our last entry. I actually thought my last entry was whenever I wrote the last one, but...I just had to share today.

Today is the two year anniversary of the tubing accident that led to Teddy's craniotomy. It's not the two year anniversary exactly (that's on February 21). But it's the Sunday of President's Day weekend, and that's when it happened.

Several months ago, the Boy Scout troop set the date for the annual winter campout to Lake Metigoshe, and Teddy said he want to go. We were supportive but didn't put a lot of pressure on it because we knew he could very possibly change his mind. We encouraged Teddy to visit with his therapist about it, and we waited.

The day came, and Teddy and Michael left yesterday. Teddy had said that he didn't plan on tubing but said he would be okay hanging out in the lodge. I was over the moon with that. Once he got to Lake Metigoshe, we got a text from Teddy saying that he was thinking about tubing today.

And guess what.. HE DID! I remember not long after the accident Teddy said he never wanted to go to Bottineau ever again, and he was never going sledding. And here we are! It hasn't been easy. I still say the physical healing is done, and we're still working on the mental parts. But today was just so incredible.

Ryan and I are both so proud of Teddy (and Michael too--I can't imagine all the feelings he faced by returning to Lake Metigoshe).

Thank you, everyone, who helped us get to where we are today. We are so incredibly blessed.
