Journal entry by Ted Chapin

My first MRI for 2024 was supposed to be in February.  I got a call at 4PM the day before my 7AM MRI appointment to tell me it was cancelled because Cigna was not paying for it. I was willing to pay and fight the insurance company later, but the policy of the MRI facility is to cancel if the insurance company is refusing to pay.  Cigna paid for MRIs every two months last year.  I called Cigna the next day to complain. I was right.  They apologized.  Meanwhile, rescheduling and MRI cost me SIX WEEKS!  I was unhappy, and on top of that caught a nasty cold.  I was sick as a dog for ~6 days.  Missing the scan giving was making me worry and giving me headaches.  It has been a rough month!
I finally got my first MRI for 2024 on Monday.  I had my first oncologist appointment Wednesday and met with my primary oncologist today.  My scans are clear! I am delighted. I took the photo this evening.  Obviously, I am a handsome guy...  I am also skinny, and active!  This time last year, I was less than 210lbs and today I am holding steady at ~155lbs.  I ride my Peloton for 20-minute Lanebreaks at least 3 times a week.  I am eating healthy food.  Spring has sprung so I have been planting grass at home and trimming bushes or doing other work at the rental.  I plan to list the rental for sale in the next couple of weeks!  Only a few things left to do over there Let me know if you like to touch up trim paint...I am not climbing any ladders :D
I have some great plans for the spring!  I am going to a cancer retreat for men where they will teach me to fly fish, and I get to talk to other dudes with cancer.  I am going to visit my sister in FL for a couple of weeks in April, and I am going to the Indy 500 with my fraternity brother and band mate Daryl.  I am going to camp and sail and hang out with friends.  I am VERY happy to be here, and I am looking forward to enjoying some life.
Best regards to everyone! Thank you for following my story!
