Our dear sweet Tucker bumped his head on Sunday. Thank God for his kindergarten teacher who called yesterday because he seemed “off”. Because of her we took him to his pediatrician who recommended a CT scan at the children’s hospital. In that scan they found a brain tumor. He is currently in the PICU - awaiting an MRI and is on the schedule for brain surgery, Monday, depending on what they find. If you could spare a moment to pray for Tucker - we will take all the prayers we can get!  MRI results. The brain tumor has not spread to his spine but it is aggressive and they believe it is probably cancer. He is scheduled for surgery on Monday to try and remove as much as they safely can. They will then test those sections and let us know in 1-2 weeks exactly what it is and what our plan will be going forward. Chemo and radiation seem almost a sure thing but we really will not know anything else for the next 1-2 weeks. We are in the PICU at CHKD for the next week, at least, and then hopefully can go home to recover before his treatments. Please keep Tucker in your prayers!!! This is all very shocking and trying to process Tucker not going back to school to finish his beloved kindergarten is hard for him to take in!

Tucker is scheduled for surgery at CHKD, Monday, April 29th at 7:30am and could be 10 hours long.  We will update everyone as soon as we can.

Journal entry by Adam Davis

Tucker started Chemo Round #4 on Monday at Children's Hospital of the King's Daughters (CHKD) and they were in the holiday spirit!  Tucker got to meet Spiderman, some Storm Troopers, and Disney Princesses and also saw a special viewing of Frozen 2.  Treatment went pretty well and now Tucker is home resting as the next week or so will slow him down the most.  Hopefully this round we can get by without any unscheduled trips back to the hospital!

(If you are thinking about Tucker this Christmas and want to do something for our family please consider making a donation to CHKD, Edmarc, or a blood donation with the American Red Cross.  Both of these organizations have served Tucker so well this year and their respective missions will never run out.)
