Journal

Sophie has stayed out of the hospital since March 19th, a new record! (not counting the quick outpatient biopsy)

Here's a quick update in calendar form.

May 2nd: Sophie's lab results all came back really GOOD! The doctors all commented on how good she looked and how encouraged they were with the results.

May 4th: I got a much needed and fancy Seattle curly hair cut, which was why Jon was not allowed to move his departure a day earlier.

May 5th: Jon said goodbye (very early) and flew from Seattle to Anchorage, Anchorage to Port Alsworth and then Port Alsworth to Sandpoint AK for a three week bear hunting work trip. While it was hard to leave he was encouraged with Sophie being in a good spot and the desire to work/hunt was very strong after a year away.

May 6th: Sophie and I went to the ZOO! Sophie is quite the bird watcher and was enthralled with the tropical birds and flamingos. It was a treat to watch her register and being so engaged with something that interested her.

May 7th-May 16th: Laura LaRock, my friend from a summer working at LPA together, is flying in from Virginia tonight to spend some time with the girls in Seattle!

May 28th (ish): Around this time Jon will return from AK to Seattle. Depending on how Sophie's labs will have trended....maybe then we can all fly back to Anchorage together?! The team is doing all they can to make sure that we could be ready to go back to Alaska if all looks good with Sophie. We have thought so many times maybe at the end of next month we could go home and that hasn't worked out, but I do feel like maybe, just maybe, this one could be it.

Prayer Requests:

-Sophie's continued good health!

-Emotional resilience for myself as there has been more obvious suffering in the house lately, more kids suffering side affects of chemo and our neighbors baby girl passed away suddenly from heart failure.

-Jon's safety, successful hunt and that his heart would be filled up.

-The Lord's provision and creative ideas of how best to spend time with Sophie between May 16th and May 28th when Jon gets back from Alaska.

Thank you! <3

Katie
