Journal entry by carol naughton —
We are in the home stretch for treatment. Terry finished chemo yesterday and has 6 radiation treatments to go. He’s been a champ through it all, but this last week has been a little rough. The cumulative effect of treatment has caught up to him, and he’s tired and is experiencing unpleasant side effects from radiation, i.e., raw skin on his neck and ear area and an ulcer on his tongue. We knew it was coming and is necessary to fight this awful disease.
We met with both doctors yesterday and they’re pleased with the results so far! The tumor can continue to shrink for about 90 days after treatment.
We also scheduled a second opinion for surgery at Johns Hopkins in Bethesda, Md, next Tuesday. We just want to be sure we’re doing everything right.
Thanks, as always, for the prayers, the cards, the special treats! You all mean the world to Terry, and me, and we appreciate your care and concern. #teamsnowy
