Phoebe’s Story

Site created on September 8, 2022

This Caring Bridge page was set up by TEAM PHOEBE to support the Carey family during their health challenge.  Sadly, Phoebe was diagnosed with a malignant brain tumor in July which requires immediate treatment. She'll undergo brain surgery in Boston at Brigham Hospital on Sept 19 and then ongoing treatment at Dana Farber Cancer Institute through this fall. All that know Phoebe have seen her strength, determination and warrior spirit. She is the cherished wife of Don, loving mother to Piper (3y/o) and little Donnie (1y/o), and caring friend to all that know her.

Phoebe battled stage 3 breast cancer in 2021 shortly after delivering little Donnie. Following six months of treatment and double mastectomy surgery, Phoebe was declared cancer free. Team Phoebe was set up in 2021 to be with her every step of the way supporting with family meals, playdates, childcare funds, messages of love & support.  It was tremendous to see hundreds gather as supporting members of Team Phoebe. This support was critical in helping Phoebe and the Carey family navigate their breast cancer fight.

As Phoebe and her family embark on this next challenge, we've established this page to provide coordination of support and updates on her treatment. Find below current ways to support the family:

-GoFundMe: Funds directed towards childcare and lodging costs while Phoebe and Don are in Boston for treatment this fall. (link to page attached in ways to help section)

-MealTrain: Meal and food drop windows available for sign-up. (link to page attached in ways to help section)

-Playdate sign-up: Windows avail for afternoon playdates and activities with Piper and Little Donnie. (visit planner section in ways to help and scroll dates)

-Messages of love and support: 15 Moreland Street, Bronxville, NY 10708

Thank you all for your love & support for the AMAZING PHOEBS! She and her family are going to crush this. We will be with them every step of the way !!
-Team Phoebe
