One year ago today was Lisa's surgery (a year and eight months from diagnosis) -- after which the pathology report was clean!  I still remember with a smile Lisa's surgeon saying, if a pathology report can be beautiful, Lisa's was.  The tears of emotion overcome me as I think about where we are today.

Eric (17) posted this, and I thought I'd pass it on here:

"I can't believe that we're celebrating a year cancer free today!!!  Mom, you're so strong!!  I can't imagine life without you in it.  Thank you for being so strong and fighting the fight.  It was hard and sometimes really scary.  We praise God for His healing and for you and for giving you the perseverance to win."

Medical Update:  Due to a couple of pains and issues / concerns, Lisa underwent a bone scan of her chest area and an abdominal CT scan in the last four months, and both came back clean.  Whew!  She is down over 50 lbs from where she started-- a steady gradual drop that has continued to the present.  We (and her doc) don't want to see any more weight loss.  She also continues to have some pain in her rib cage and chest area and right arm, but all and all, she is feeling really good.
