Journal entry by Katie Budde —
Earlier this week I had my six-month check-up with my doctors. On Monday I had a 3-D mammogram and saw my surgeon. On Tuesday I had some blood work, met with my oncologist, and got the results of my CT scan from several days ago. The results of the mammogram and CT scan were both clear, and everything looks normal. Praise God! Next up, I'll see my radiation oncologist and medical oncologist again in 3 months and my surgeon again in 6 months.
In other news, I'm back at work teaching full-time and feeling pretty much back to normal. My energy and stamina are good, I've been going to the YMCA with Chad a few times a week to work out, and I have no lingering effects from the months of treatment over this past year (aside from the hot flashes brought on by chemo-induced menopause). Plus my hair is growing back in curly!
There is much to be thankful for this year. Blessings to all of you this holiday season!
