Jamie’s Story

Site created on April 21, 2024

On Thursday April 18th Jamie was diagnosed with cancer. Jamie presented to the ER with a migraine and terrible back pain and right sided leg pain.  Jamie and family had no idea she was even sick and did not present any symptoms that would indicate any illness. Jamie has suffered back pain for years since 2006 when she was truck by a car walking in NY and then later was diagnosed with spondylolisthesis. However, nothing could have prepared any of us for the news they delivered after that MRI.

Jamie was diagnosed with lung cancer that spread rapidly and has moved into her liver, spleen, multiple osseous structures and her brain. Jamie, Sean, Lila and Nora are processing and attempting to navigate these murky waters. Treatment with radiation will begin soon and after that Jamie will begin Chemo.

Journal entry by Jenny Jones

So, after Jamie quite honestly had a very shitty evening and a terrible ER stay we have a small win.  A gene mutation within her cancer that gives us BIG Hope for more years, more time and just more options.

Today I am thankful for a glimmer of brightness in the tunnel of a crap shoot situation .  Thankful for the friends in my sisters life who drop everything and spend most of the evening in the hospital, grateful our family is close to Jamie and can always be there for her.  To those people who have given me so much comfort by just being with my sister in her time of need I absolutely love you and am thankful.

To small wins!  Family and Friends!

Never give up!  Big things happening!

❤️
Jenny (Jamie’s sister)
