Journal entry by Michael Gallo

The snow we drove through on our last visit to Mayo Clinic has all vanished like a bad dream fleeing at the sun’s first light. We were joined on this visit by our youngest granddaughter Jaina who has been such a trooper! Besides our visit to Mayo we spent some time swimming and playing with my sister, her hubby, her daughter and 3 kids. Jaina and her youngest cousin Alissa quickly became
Fast Friends bonding over their mutual love
Of Paw Patrol.

Speaking of the clinic visit, the purpose for the trip, let’s share the results. First off, Muffy had to take a pulmonary test to check the endurance and capacity of her lungs. She scored in the top percentile in all areas. Nailed it! Then it was a high res CT scan of her lungs to look for long term damage from her stay in ICU. Result… ALL CLEAR! No scaring or residual effects. We were wondering if there had not been extensive evidence confirming that Muffy was a VERY ILL WOMAN, put on life support with copious notes from Nurses and doctors if they might have doubted Dawnita was ever sick.
Soooo…
1) a schedule has been drawn up for tapering Dawnita off the prednisone, over the next 6-6 weeks
2) no need to order more antibiotic. Those are done!.
3. And a new consult has been requested for a full consultation with a doc In rheumatologist at Mayo. Last time it was done only
In relation to the breathing and lung issue.
4) Also the doctor we consulted was very confident that Dawnita’s illness was NOT related to long COVID. Mayo Clinic has done some extensive research on Long Covid and it does NOT resemble Dawnita’s illness at all.

Thank you again for all your love, prayers and support. Tomorrow we will take Jaina to play, explore and discover at the MN Children’s Museum in St Paul and then lunch with her great Aunt Janet. And finally home Tuesday night.
Team Muffy/Dawnita you are outstanding!!
