On Saturday, March 31 , 2018 , I was experiencing severe leg pain in my right leg. We just thought this was my EDS so went to ER for evaluation. After x-ray and ultra sound I was given pain meds and sent home. Around 2:00 am the pain became so severe , we returned to ER.  At this time, my blood pressure had dropped significantly and dr was very concerned. There were a few small bruises on my leg. They began taking drastic measures to send me by ambulance to Blodgett.  By the time I arrived at Blodgett, I had many bruises on my upper calf and thigh and a small blood blister. Dr traced the area and within 20 mins they had both grown. At that point, they rushed me to surgery to irrigate to wound and hopefully stop the growing infection which they were then suspecting was necrotizing fasciitis; ( due to a strep infection).. After several hours, it was clear that the surgery was unsuccessful and infection was continuing to spread. My parents then had to make the very difficult decision to allow drs to amputate my right leg in an effort to save my life ( no guarantee at this point ). I spent the next two days fighting for my life in ICU and then thanks to the prayers of hundreds of people and the healing power of God, I was taken off ventilator on Tuesday ( I’m told I was high as a kite and the entertainment of the entire ICU floor) and moved to a regular floor on Weds. Since then each day I get a little better and a little stronger . It is amazing how far I've come in a week. I continue to focus on being a messenger for Christ and that this is his miracle. I’m excited to see where this new journey takes us. I thank him every day I’m alive. The rest is just flesh and bone. I am overwhelmed by the love, support and prayers coming from literally around the world.

Update 3 months In!!!

What a week!! We have learned a lot and have become way more confident in transfers and just the basics of living in the “real” world. PT and OT are going well.
We went to another doctors appointment today and it went so smoothly we stopped for ice cream.
Thank you for those who continue to pray. The doctor today said I was healing amazingly well and I no longer have any restrictions. Yippee!!!
I am still dealing with muscle spasms and phantom pain. I ask for prayers that we find answers on those.
Praise the Lord for all he has done and will do!
