Tayvis has been doing amazing things!! He started physical therapy last week and had his first occupational therapy appointment this morning. Occupational therapy cleared him and he doesn’t need to go back. He will continue his physical therapy in order to get his strength back.
We saw the hematologist last week since his platelets were elevated before we left the hospital. They wanted to keep an eye on those levels to make sure they were trending back down and they are. They just don’t want to miss anything.
He still has to give himself shots twice a day to keep his blood thin. The medical team wants him on the shots for 3 months to ensure that the blood clots do not return. I guess it is common in the first 3 months for them to come back so they want to prevent that from happening.
He is very happy to be back home. He still gets tired pretty fast. But there is improvement everyday. He lost between 30 and 40 pounds so he is trying to get some of that weight back on. His appetite is good, he just can’t eat much at one time. So it is little meals frequently through out the day.
We just can’t express enough how thankful we all are for everything everyone has done for us. The love and support we have had, has been nothing short of amazing. We appreciate the continued prayers as Tayvis heals and figures out what lies ahead for him. This has had a huge impact on many aspects of his life and his families. Thank you again.
