Journal

Hi everyone!
I’ve been meaning to post an update for a while now.
I’m on spring break..which means relaxing!!!!🧡
⭐️On Feb. 27th, I had a virtual appointment with my Oncologist to go over my bone marrow results and next steps. He was happy to see that I’m still in remission. He felt bad about having to do the bone marrow biopsy twice (technically 4 times since each time they had to restart 🙃). I was hoping my Oncologist would say that we can meet every 6 months now instead of 3 since things were looking good. His decision was to continue 3 month labs and a virtual visit. I will continue to look for signs of relapse. A bone marrow biopsy will be done again in Jan/Feb and under CT since that’s what ended up working.
✨ I was only hoping for every 6 months, because the thought of relapsing is always on my mind. It’s a mind game all the time mentally, BUT especially on lab day!!
Now after processing it all after the appointment, I am glad that I will be doing labs still every 3 months. Even though I’m in remission, the percentage of relapsing is still high!🧡

⭐️For those that are newer to the page, a few days before I was diagnosed, I went to the ER for heart palpitations. I was sent home and told to see a Cardiologist. That’s when after the lab work they did at the ER showed that my labs were all off! When I was diagnosed, doctors said it really had nothing to do with the heart palpations. I then started chemo right away and decided to see a Cardiologist at Froedtert once I was feeling better.
✨After MANY tests, lab work, heart monitors, I was put on a beta blocker this summer. Today, I am going in for a Cardiac MRI to see if I can wean off the beta blockers. This time I will be going to Aurora instead of Froedtert, since Froedtert doesn’t have the type of machine my doctor wants.
Funny story….I actually thought my appointment was yesterday. So I did my fasting 4 hours before but then ate a waffle and forgot about the fasting haha. I get to the hospital and my name wasn’t popping up for anything yesterday. They then told me “well you are at the right time..but it’s tomorrow” 😂.  I made sure to not eat a waffle this morning too! Haha.
