Journal

To everyone that has been following Taylor's story I am so extremely excited to share this update. Since it has been a while since the last update a lot has happened. After Taylor's surgery things finally seemed to turn in the right direction. She was doing great and their looked to be no complications in the horizon. Her attitude was awesome and she was ready to get the heck out of that ICU. After a morning briefing with her surgical team they explained to us that since her incision looked good she was going to be discharged from the hospital to head home. This was absolutely music to our ears. Only downside was she had to go home with a PICC Line as she still needed daily dose's of IV antibiotics but if that's the worst will take it.

After 30 days in the ICU Taylor was finally going to be discharged to head home to her sweet children. I cannot explain in words the emotional roller coaster my wife and I have gone through. To think back over a month ago what was thought to be just chronic migraines turned out to be something that would change her life and our family's forever. Where we started out back in August to where we have come today has given both Taylor and myself the ability to look at life in a much different way.  Through our faith, family and friends we have been able to push through this journey with such new perspectives. The amount of positivity and grace we have seen throughout this has been a true blessing. Even though this journey is far from over and yet it seems to be just starting we realize that soon enough the light were waiting for will break over the horizon and show itself to us. We still find it hard to think "WHY US" but for now were going to take each day one step at a time and always look for the little wins whenever we can get them.

Today, Taylor continues to make amazing strides in her recovery. Each day she gets a little better then the last and for that were so thankful for. Peyton, Tenley and Jackson are so happy mommy is home and able to be with them each and every day.

I want to personally thank all of our family and friends for all the love and support we have been given. At times I felt guilty that so many people were taking time out of their day to reach out to us during this time. I was told by so many that guilt is the last thing you should feel but for Taylor and myself we like to keep our lives somewhat private. I know now that these people were right, guilt isn't the right feeling, gratitude is. What I have seen from so many people during these times has shown me that no one can concur these things alone.  No mater how strong, tough or positive we are it takes Faith, Family and Friends to help you get through these unforgettable/unimaginable moments.

With this being the last update I hope to write for sometime I want to share with everyone that Taylor's team has decided to give her body time to rest / heal before entering into the next phase. In three weeks Taylor will meet with an oncologist and in November she will have a new MRI which will help to determine the next steps to managing her tumor. There are still many unknowns but for now the Taylor and the kids are doing great!!!!!

With moments like these one simple phrase someone I have looked up to for so many years always came to mind. Some may think its so basic but for me it carries so much meaning.

"Life is Good"
