Today, Tara had her reconstructive surgery.  We had to be at the surgery center at 5:30am and we were home around 11.  Her plastic surgeon says everything went well and recovery should be routine.
She's spent the day eating chicken noodle soup and watching her favorite British historical shows.
She says that she feels much better, less painful and is more comfortable.
Praise God that we're near the end of this leg of the journey.
According to the doctor, her recovery will be more rapid than the last one, hopefully about a week.
Tara is ready to go back to work and chomping at the bit to do so.

We didn't get to go on a long trip this summer but did get to spend time with my family in a cabin near Alpine, AZ last weekend.  It was in celebration of my dad's 80th birthday.  All of my parents' grandchildren were there as well as all my siblings and most of their spouses.  We were only missing my brother-in-law.  The weather was cool and it rained every day.  We spent time together, roasting Dad, playing board games and washer toss.
We set up a big tournament of washer toss.  Josh teamed up with my oldest nephew and won the tournament.  The washer toss was such a big hit that I was asked to make sets for everyone for Christmas.
On the evening of my Dad's birthday, we had a karaoke night.  There was a lot of laughter.  Josiah was the self-appointed master of ceremonies, introducing each act and telling jokes in between as well as helping people find the songs they wanted.  A good time was had by all.

Now we're back in the heat and counting down the last 3 weeks before school starts....😏
Tara is going to take it easy this week, I'm home for the rest of the week and the first part of next and she has her two strapping boys to help her also.
We pray for successful healing and that we never have to deal with cancer again!
