Journal entry by Dona Riolo

To all the people who know Tanya Rae Peterson, Daughter of Betty Jo Dotson (formerly known as Betty Jo Whitehead) and Neil Peterson, Step-daughter to Jim Dotson and Brenda Peterson:

Tanya has been battling with ovarian cancer and despite a long and courageous struggle was sent home on Friday August 30th to be cared for by her loving family and hospice. Betty Jo has been by Tanya's side each day and will continue to be at Tanya's request.

The last information the family was given was that Tanya had two weeks to live. That was nearly two weeks ago.

Tanya is 38 years old, is married to Garrett Radcliff and has three children; "Little Garrett", Kyle and Taylor. She is in her home where she enjoys spending time on the front porch next to her fountain where the sound of trickling water eases her mind and the view of the landscaping Betty Jo and Garrett installed for her gives her peace. Her first day home she sat on the porch for hours surrounded by family, laughing about old stories and watching the hummingbird who loves her bottlebrush tree.

Yesterday when the hospice nurse visited there was a noticeable change in Tanya's energy level. She is sleeping more now which according to the nurse is what we can expect to happen more each day.

Tanya's family is spending their days with her. All of your thoughts and prayers are so appreciated and we ask that you please follow this site, the facebook sites for Betty Jo Dotson, Dona Riolo, Anna Freddi and Gina Riolo for updates as we will be posting them regularly. It is too much at this time for her immediate family to provide updates and personally accept phone calls.

To support Tanya and her family in the best way possible we ask that you visit the facebook pages to find Tanya's "GoFundMe" link where we have set up an account with a more detailed description of events and a campaign to help Tanya's family, particularly her children, stay in there home when she is no longer able to contribute to the finances. We also ask that you share the link with as many people as you know via facebook, text and email as her family is in need of support and the best thing we can give her now is the peace to know her children will have a home to live in.
