Tanner’s Story

Site created on April 13, 2018

On Thursday afternoon, April 12, Tanner was involved in a farm accident at their home.  This accident involved a small group of cows and calves where Tanner was struck repeatedly to the ground.

The family acted quickly and were able to be reached by the Monfort EMS in record time.   He was transported to Upland Hills Health where he could safely be reached by Medflight and taken to UW American Children's Hospital.

Tanner sustained heavy traumatic injuries to his liver and abdomen.  He underwent a very long surgery that evening where, by the grace of God, two transplant surgeons were able to repair the liver to a stable state.

Tanner will be undergoing more surgeries over the next couple days to ensure the bleeding has been and remains controlled.

We understand as a family that this is simply the cusp of a very, very long road of recovery for Tanner.  We are praying fervently over him and all of his healthcare team.

We will post updates as the family wishes here.  We thank you all for the generous outpouring of love and support to us all.  Keep the prayers coming.

**update for anyone looking to help out some how**

A gift-card donation box will be set up at the Livingston Community First bank for the family.  We appreciate all of you!

Since so many have asked for an update...…
His blood pressure continues to be semi-controlled. Tanner is doing well as he can in school. Our decision to put him in a virtual school has been a good choice. He is growing in his knowledge and skills. Tanner's brain continues to heal. Thanks to all the services he gets at school and the support he has had it has begun to be hard to tell that Tanner has any brain damage.
Tanner recently had surgery to repair the damage from foot drop in his left foot. Surgery went well. Tanner can put weight on it as tolerated. Tanner will be in a cast for 7.5 weeks then a walking boot for a little bit depending on how he is healing.
We still appreciate all the support, thoughts and prayers.
