Journal entry by Stephanie Heatwole —
Just wanted to hop on here and give another quick update on mom. She started her last round of chemo last Monday but the side effects have been a little more rough. She has been much more fatigued and has no appetite. She hasn’t been able to eat much for over a week which therefore does not help her energy levels. One of the medications she’s being given this round is a very potent chemo medication and has the nickname “Red Devil”. Can you join us in praying for her that she can find something that she can tolerate eating and can get somewhat of an appetite back?
Spending time with her this past week I can tell she’s more discouraged and doesn’t have energy to do much. We are also hoping that since there are 3 weeks between each treatment that by the middle of it she can get an appetite back to build up energy and strength to tackle the next treatment. She has 3 more treatments to go and should wrap things up in June with chemo.
Another prayer request would be for her heart to stay healthy. Some of the chemo medications can have a negative effect on her heart so they started her on a medication particularly for her heart. Thank you again for all the prayers. I know for sure they are appreciated!
