Journal entry by Tina Barker

Hello Friends & Family!  So sorry for not posting sooner - life has been FULL.  Let's catch you guys up on my journey...

As you all know, May 22nd was the one year mark of my first chemo treatment.  I am happy to report that I completed my last chemo treatment in December of 2020.  Although this is GOOD news and I am doing very well - feeling great and enjoying having hair (even though it is ALL gray, I'm still happy), my journey is not over yet...

I still have to go to CTCA in Newnan, GA every 3 weeks to get a hormone blocking infusion which takes about 2.5 hours.  I use this time to see all of my doctors as well - it is very convenient to have them all in one place.  I am very happy with the care I have received at CTCA.  Every 6 weeks, they add another medication to treat my bones.  My oncologist has mentioned that the FDA is scheduled to approved the release of a pill within the next 6-9 months that could replace my infusions.  This is a HUGE prayer request!

In February, I started working part-time, about 4 hours a day.  As happy as I am to be able to work, it comes with its own set of challenges.  It is difficult to juggle the demands of work, doctor appointments, and family!  I've just been given a new position that I am both excited and nervous about.  This job is a perfect fit for me - when I am at 100%.   Beginning on July 1st, I will be tackling this challenge with optimism and gratitude!

In April, I had an outpatient procedure on my spine that will help my vertebrae remain strong and supportive.  I am completely healed from that surgery and only experienced moderate pain from it.

Please continue to stand with me in prayer & thanksgiving for all that Jesus has done for me and in me.  I also ask that you agree with me in prayer that total healing will be manifested and documented for HIS glory!  My hope is to be a testimony to God's miraculous healing power!

Other prayer requests:

I am being treated for neuropathy in my feet.

I am going to physical therapy to regain muscular strength in my arms & legs.

Approval of the pill version of my infusion meds.

Continued back strength and health.

Zometa (bone meds) will continue to do its job and that we see continued healing of the bones.

Full body scan is scheduled for June 14th - pray for an amazing report!

My daughter is leaving for college in August.

My son in an undisclosed location serving in the US Army.

Thank you for ALL of your support!  I am so grateful for each of you - every dollar you've given, every ride shared, meal prepared, and prayer uttered has helped get me where I am today!
